Biography of Dr. Linda T. Hardwick
Dr. Linda T. Hardwick attended Cleveland public School System and graduated from John Marshall High School. She completed her undergraduate degree at Central State University in Xenia, Ohio. Receiving a full scholarship, she completed her Master's Degree at Case Western Reserve University. Education is very important to Dr. Hardwick and she continued attaining knowledge in her field of study and received another Masters degree in Multicultural Education and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of Akron. Taking on a career of teaching, Dr. Hardwick taught at Hicks Elementary School, Hazeldell and Harvey Rice Elementary Schools before being promoted to an Assistant principal at Miles Standish Elementary Schools, Hazeldell and Harvey Rice Elementary Schools before being promoted to an Assistant principal at Miles Standish Elementary (now Michael R. White Elementary). Her longest tenure as an Administrator was at two (2) school campuses, Forest Hill Parkway Academy and Early College High School of the Cleveland Municipal School District. Simultaneously, she also served as a Night School Principal of Jane Addams and Max Hayes, for approximately ten (10) years. This venture enabled her to establish a close, personal connection and academic success with students across the entire city of Cleveland. Her knowledge of education has also enabled her to also serve as Adjunct Professor at Kent State University Retiring after 37 years of dedicated service to the students and parents she served; God still has much work for her to do. As of November 4 2009, Dr.. Hardwick was appointed as Superintendent of The Richmond Heights school District.
Because of her work in creating a learning environment that maximizes students' ability to learn and be successful, she has served as a Mentor Principal for colleague administrators. Dr. Hardwick's philosophy is that a school principal is the leader of the organizations, serving as a guide and model for teachers and students, alike. She lives to watch children blossom into creative, intelligent young adults ready for the life learning ahead of them and their goal to be successful.
Dr. Hardwick is the recipient of numerous awards, including the following:Fulbright Scholar by United States Department of Education, August 2005; the Williams M. Jones/Harvard Business Club of Northeastern Ohio Excellence in School Management Award, November, 2005; and the Legacy Award, Outstanding, Dedicated and Visionary Leader and Educator, Metropolitan Cleveland Alliance of Black School Educators, May, 2003. She has been honored to receive several other awards too numerous to name.
Dr. Hardwick is a much sought after lecturer and conference presenter which has afforded her the opportunity to travel extensively across the United States and even to Brazil. Her presentations have given her the opportunity to be featured in numerous television newscasts including guest appearances on WEWS Channel 5, CNN Nightly News and NBC Nightly News. She has also been featured in news publications, magazines, and books including, USA Today, The Plain Dealer, and The Los Angeles Times.
