Dear Richmond Heights Families,
As we move into the final stretch of the school year, our students will soon participate in the Ohio State Tests and End of Course Exams. These assessments are required by the Ohio Department of Education and measure how well students are mastering the learning standards for their grade level and course. For high school students, several of these exams are also part of Ohioâs graduation requirements.
Students who are enrolled in any of the courses listed below, including honors and AP, will take the corresponding exam. If your child is enrolled in one of these courses, regardless of grade level, they are required to test.
Students who are not scheduled to take a test on a given day should not report to school. Instead, they are expected to complete asynchronous learning assignments provided by their teachers from home.
Testing will take place on the following dates.
DATE | TEST |
|---|---|
April 9, 2026 | SCIENCE Science 8 Biology |
April 14, 2026 | ELA - PART I ELA 7 ELA 8 ELA 10 |
April 16, 2026 | ELA - PART II ELA 7 ELA 8 ELA 10 |
April 21, 2026 | MATH ALG I GEOM MATH 7 MATH 8 |
April 28, 2026* | American History |
On most testing days, only students who are actively testing will report to school by 7:40 AM. Students who are not testing will remain at home and complete asynchronous learning.
Following testing, the school day will operate on an adjusted schedule.
Middle school students will be dismissed at 1:30 PM.
High school students may leave after testing if they have a signed parent or guardian permission slip on file. Students who do not have a permission slip will remain at school and will also be dismissed at 1:30 PM.
School buses will run at 1:30 PM on testing days.
*April 28. American History
On this day, middle school students will report to school and follow a modified schedule, with dismissal at 1:30 PM.
High school students who are not taking the American History exam will not report to school and will instead participate in asynchronous learning from home.
You can support your student by ensuring they get a good nightâs sleep, arrive on time, and come to school prepared to do their best.
If you have any questions about testing or scheduling, please contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and their success.
Sincerely,
Ms. C. Maclin
Secondary School Principal
