Richmond Heights Local Schools

Understanding how school funding works in Ohio can be confusing because not all school dollars can be used for the same purpose.

Learn more about how Ohio’s school funding works at our Aug. 24 board meeting.

Some funding supports the day-to-day operation of our schools, including transportation, staffing, classroom instruction and extracurricular programs. Other funding is legally restricted to permanent facility improvements, such as buildings, athletic facilities and other capital projects.

As Richmond Heights Local Schools begins a new school year with several important initiatives underway, we want to help our community better understand how different funding sources work and how they may legally be used.

Secondary School Schedule Pick-Up Information! ‼️
Richmond Heights Secondary School families, it’s almost time to get ready for the new school year!
Here’s when you can pick up your student’s schedule:
📅 Tuesday, August 11 | 4:00–6:00 PM
Pick up schedules during the Back-to-School Fair.
📅 Thursday, August 13 | 9:00–11:00 AM
Pick up schedules in the Secondary School main entrance hallway.
💻 Schedules will also be available Tuesday morning through ProgressBook.
📝 Schedule change forms will be available, although please note that schedule changes will not be made at that time.

Attention Richmond Heights Middle School Football Families! 💙🏈
If your student is interested in playing middle school football this season, be sure to attend the mandatory parent meeting on July 15 at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria. ‼️
Conditioning sessions will take place on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00–4:30 PM for interested student-athletes.

ST1K3MS 2026 Summer Camp Program Orientation Begins with the Meet and Greet on June 5th from 2 pm to 6 pm.
Hone your skills and learn some new ones!

Camp will start on June 8th and end on August 14th
for 1st thru 12th grades.
There will be two sessions :
12 pm-2 pm and 2 pm - 4 pm

Free breakfast and lunch in June
Meal prep is work. Let us take care of that!

Join us at Richmond Heights Elementary School for free meals and fun for kids and teens 18 and under.

🏈💙 A new chapter is coming to Richmond Heights. 💙🏈
For the first time in several years, football will once again return to the stadium at Richmond Heights High School thanks to the incredible gift of new turf from the Cleveland Browns.
A ceremonial groundbreaking was held on Monday, May 18, marking an exciting moment for our students, athletes, and community. To make the day even more memorable, the Browns sent two of their recent first-round draft picks—Spencer Fano from Utah and KC Concepcion from Texas A&M. 🌟
This project represents more than a field...it’s an investment in opportunity, school pride, and the future of Spartan athletics. We can’t wait to see our students create new memories on this field!

School Medical Reminders for the end of this school year and the beginning of the next school year.
Parents and guardians must pick up all student medication (prescription and over-the-counter) from the school health office by May 29th, 11 AM, to avoid disposal. Medications cannot be stored over the summer, and any left behind will be destroyed in accordance with school policy.

Please make note of the 2026-2027 Vaccine Requirements for students entering 7th and 11th grade.

Reminder from the nurse to complete and sign all forms if your child has a medical condition or may need medication at school.
